| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We conducted a multidisciplinary study on "Singularity" where the "superhuman intelligence" would be possible. Firstly, we examined validity as a technological forecast of the expectation that someday something like singularity will come true. Then, we analyzed related concepts such as "superhuman", "intelligence" and so on.
Secondly, based upon these grounding tasks we tried to make it clear, on the assumption that something like "singularity" will come, how human being should cope with it in a proactive manner. Lastly, we made a proposal on how we should control developmental processes of artificial intelligent systems.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
シンギュラリティないし知的人工システムが実現したのちに、あるいはそれを想像した上で、それにどう対処しようかとだけ考えるのは合理的ではない。知的人工システムの開発をどのような方向に向けてコントロールすべきかを考える必要がある。しかしそのためには「幸福な人類の未来」という目標を設定した上で、その実現に向けて人工システムの開発を進めるというスケールの大きなバックキャスト型の思考が必要である。しかしながら、われわれは「幸福な人類の未来」を構想することがきわめて下手である。そこで、本研究のいわば副産物として、「幸福な人類の未来」を構想する力を育てる技術者向け研修プログラムを開発し実施している。
