Outline of Final Research Achievements

The main findings of the preset study were: 1) acute exercise improved cognitive performance; 2) acute exercise released endogenous dopamine; 3) endogenous dopamine release tended to be associated with improvement in cognitive performance during exercise.

本研究は，なぜ一回の運動であっても認知パフォーマンスが向上するのかを明らかにする研究である．今回の研究成果は，これまで明らかにされていなかった，運動が認知パフォーマンスを向上させるメカニズムの解明につながる貴重な知見であると言える．本研究の成果は，運動が脳にもたらす有益な効果を広く示すとともに，習慣的な運動による認知機能の維持・改善に対しても重要な示唆をもたらすものであると考えられる．
