| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Both in Japan and internationally, regional revitalization and other aspects of community development are important policy issues. Aim of this research is to explore what is adult community approach. Results are following;
1)Community development should take into consideration the meanings that local residents associate with particular places. This aspect, however, is almost ignored in most cases. Especially sports and Art activities are very important elements. Further we have to take into consideration that not one organization but network of various subjects. 2) we have to take more wider what is adult and community education. 3) the issue is a socioeconomic one, and it presents itself as a set of problems surrounding the power of capital to forcefully impose a uniform meaning on the area in question. Thus we see a cultural and symbolic battle to invest the area with new meaning in opposition to capital.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
研究成果については，以下の3点を指摘できる．
第1に，日本社会教育学会の研究への問題提起を通して，学会全体の研究課題へと取り組みを深めることができた．とくに，社会的教育の定義としては，従来，既存文献の理論的検討を通して演繹的に議論されてきた傾向があった．第2に，社会教育的価値への問題提起である. そもそも社会教育が目指すべき価値とは何かということを明確化することができた. それはwell=beingの意味，すなわち，暮らしの「よくあること」を意味することを確認した．第3に，日韓共同研究へと発展し，このネットワークを基盤に社会教育・生涯学習のアジア・モデルの探究への出発点を作ることができた．
