By chemical investigation and synthetic studies on Iboga-type indole alkaloids with TRPV1 antagonistic activity, we found new alkaloids from Ervatamia plant and developed a new rout for asymmetric total synthesis of Iboga-type indole alkaloids. Based on the indole alkaloid isolated from Mitragyna plant, we also developed an effective analgesic compound, which acted on opioid receptors as bias-agonist. Asymmetric total syntheses of three Lycopodium alkaloids having anti-acetylcholine esterase activity were achieved.
