Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study is to provide an academic basis for formulating comprehensive climate change countermeasures for the agriculture in Japan. So far, I have compiled and published research results on the impact of climate change on future agricultural income in Japan as academic papers. I invited a researcher from Europe to provide policy support to farmers in Europe. I also conducted international joint research with a counterpart in Australia.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

農業分野において将来予想される気候変動への対応には、農家による取組みと政策的支援の両面が必要である。この観点から我が国の既存研究では、第一に農業分野での気候変動対策の具体的指針と経済的メリットの解明、および第二に将来における気候変動が農業生産に及ぼす影響の経済評価、という課題が残されていた。本研究では、これらの点の解明を通じ、我が国の農業分野における総合的な気候変動対策策定に向けた学術的根拠を提供することを課題とした。学会報告、学術論文の出版、国際ワークショップの開催などを通じ、課題の解決に向けた取り組みを実施した。
