Outline of Final Research Achievements

Using a diamond nitrogen vacancy center (NV center), we have realized quantum media conversion from a single photon to a single nitrogen nucleon with a heralding function based on the quantum teleportation principle. We have also achieved selective integrated quantum memory writing from single photons to isotopic carbon nucleons around NV. We also succeeded in complete Bell measurement between isotopic carbon quantum memories, quantum error correction using many nucleons as logical qubits, and quantum wavelength conversion between a photon of optical communication wavelength and a photon of diamond absorption wavelength.

電磁波の資源を余すところなく利用して物質を量子制御し、デバイス・システム応用に供するためのフロンティアとして、光科学・量子科学の革新的な展開に先導的な役割を果たす。本研究を基礎とした量子通信ネットワークの実現より、量子通信の距離制限が解消されるとともに、古典的な通信容量限界を超えた量子光通信などの新たな活用法が期待され、破壊的イノベーションにつながる。
