Outline of Annual Research Achievements

・ネバダ州イーストハンボルトレンジの試料分析を行い、得られた定方位岩石試料の微細組織観察から調査地域が各深さ領域での変形組織を保持した大陸花崗岩類の試料セットであることを確認した。またエンジェル湖周辺の試料中微小剪断帯内では、異なる深さで形成されたことが予想される各微細変形組織に対して、EBSD測定における最適な結晶構造データベースを取得するためEPMA分析を行った上で、EBSDによる広域結晶方位マッピングを実施した。本年度までに得られた成果をまとめ国際誌へ投稿・公表する予定である。
・本年度はギリシャ・シロス島での超塩基性岩の野外地質調査を実施した。また昨年度に実施したカリフォルニア州ジェードコーブ周辺の滑石片岩のEBSDによる滑石及び角閃石の結晶方位測定では、これまで報告例のなかった滑石の結晶方位定向配列(CPO)パターンの測定に初めて成功しており、本年度は得られたEBSD測定の正確性をFIB-TEM測定から検証した。測定手法及び本成果をもとに予想される滑石片岩の摩擦特性及び地震波異方性は今後沈み込み帯のスラブーマントル境界や海嶺域を始め、滑石を多く含む変成岩や火成岩で幅広く活用が期待される成果であり、現在査読英文誌に投稿中である。
・本年度天然試料を用いた蛇紋岩の高圧加熱実験では蛇紋石鉱物とブルース石の境界に沿って多数のかんらん石の凝集体を生成することに成功した。実験手法を含めこれまでの一連の実験は沈み込み帯上部マントルで予想される変成反応とそれに伴う岩石組織の変遷の推定に貢献する成果である。
・天然試料の微小剪断帯中のアンチゴライト粒子のFIB-TEM観察から、アンチゴライトが粒界滑りによってCPOを形成することを確認した。これはアンチゴライトの新たなCPO形成機構であり、今後異なる鉱物の変形組織においても本手法によって粒界滑りの痕跡を得られる可能性を示した成果である。
