Outline of Annual Research Achievements

原始星フレアは原始星が普遍的に引き起こしている爆発現象であるが、発生機構と星形成過程との関連が未だよくわかっていない。原始星フレアは磁気エネルギーの突発的解放現象であるが、その磁場構造によって円盤に及ぼす影響やX線放射の振る舞いが変わる。そのため原始星フレアの発生機構を明らかにすることは星形成過程における星近傍の磁場構造や円盤進化を理解する上で重要である。
当該年度は星形成領域における強いX線源となる原始星フレアの発生機構について３次元磁気流体シミュレーションを用い考察した。原始星誕生時には強い磁場が星近傍に蓄えられていることが観測・理論から示唆されている。そこでそれを模した状況として強く磁化した円盤から降着を受ける原始星のシステムを考察した。従来、原始星フレアは原始星が自身のダイナモによってダイポール磁場を作り、その星磁場が円盤と相互作用することによって生じるというモデルが有力視されていた。一方我々のシミュレーションから、星はダイナモがなくても円盤からの降着に伴って強い磁場を得ることができ、そのエネルギーを使うことで原始星フレアを起こすことができることがわかった。円盤からの降着が自然にフレアの発生につながるという機構であるため、ダイポール磁場を必要とするモデルより広い環境で働くことが期待できる。成果は査読論文として現在 The Astrophysical Journal Lettersに投稿中である。
当初の計画では中心星フレアの影響を考慮した１次元円盤進化モデルの構築を目指していたが、当初想定していたフレアはダイポール磁場モデルに基づいていた。しかし今回の発見でそのフレア発生機構が一般的ではない可能性がわかったため、新たに見つかったフレアの発生機構とその振る舞いの解明に注力することにした。そのため円盤進化モデルの構築まで到達できなかったものの、新たな視点を得ることができた。
