Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
地球は、水の惑星と称されるほど水に富んだ惑星であり、その水は地球深部にも存在していることが明らかにされている。特にマントル遷移層に存在するリングウッダイトには多量の水が固溶することが可能であるが、下部マントルに存在しているブリッジマナイトにどのくらい含まれ、その水がどのくらい影響を与えるかは不明であった。本研究では、マルチアンビル型高圧発生装置を用いて高温高圧合成実験を行い、様々な組成のブリッジマナイトを合成し、含水化に起因する置換様式および含水量の圧力依存性を明らかにした。また、合成したブリッジマナイトを大型放射光施設であるSPring-8に持ち込みその場観察実験を行うことで状態方程式の決定を行った。決定した状態方程式を地震学的観測と組み合わせることで下部マントルの含水量に制約を与えることに成功した。 また、マントル遷移層領域で重要であると考えられている含水鉱物スーパーハイドラスB相についても研究を行い、Alの効果で安定領域が格段に広がり、下部マントルに水を運搬する可能性を示唆した。また、スーパーハイドラスB相に対して単結晶構造解析を行い置換様式の推定を行った。
