Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成30年度(最終年度)の研究概要実績は以下の通りでした。
1.平成28年度開発した核スピンを計測する為にコア技術となる「ロックイン計測における変調方式」を時間分解STMに導入し、システム各部が期待通り動作出来ましたが、レーザースポットの空間位置不安定さより、データの再現性を低下させる問題が見つかりました。そこで光学系設計の改良とレーザー位置安定化制御装置の設計・導入をしました。
2.平成28年度開発した多探針時間分解STMシステムを改良し、安定性を向上させ、スピンダイナミックスの測定も可能となりました、二次元半導体の一つである遷移金属ダイカルコゲナイド(TMDS)の平面ヘテロ接合の単層試料で、キャリア緩和時間測定を成功し、バレースピン緩和時間を観測しました。
3.従来のフェムト秒時間分解STMを元にして「外部トリガーできる(External Triggerable:ET)ダイオードレーザー」を用いた新たな時間分解STMシステムの開発に成功しました。新しいシステムの時間分解能は使っているダイオードレーザーのパルス幅より制限され8 ns程度にとどまるものの、システム構成は大幅に簡略化され、光学システムの導入コストが数千万円から数十万円へと大幅に削減しました。この新しい「ET時間分解STM」外部トリガーできるダイオードレーザー時間分解STMを用いて、間接遷移型半導体の一つである二セレン化タングステン(WSe2)の長いキャリア緩和時間(~μs)を観測できました。この「ET時間分解STM」は、用いるレーザー光源の選択によりピコ秒領域の時間分解能を得ることも可能であり、また逆にマイクロ秒領域の長いキャリア緩和時間の観測や、偏光変調機構と組み合わせることで電子スピンダイナミックの計測など、様々な分野に応用が可能な、画期的なものとなりました。
