Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成29年3月に博士学位を取得後、国立極地研究所に日本学術振興会特別研究員として異動し、GIAモデルによる海水準・氷床変動史の復元とそのメカニズムの解明に関する研究を進めた。今年度は本研究の最終年度であるため前年度の成果を含め、国内外の学会で積極的に発表することで共同研究の可能性を模索した。その中でも9月に参加したWorkshop on Glacial isostatic adjustment and elastic deformationではThe Scientific Committee on Antarctic Researchから旅費支援を受け、参加・発表した。また、このワークショップで構築した人脈を活かし、平成30年度6月に共同研究のためダラム大学に訪問予定である。
博士課程で得られた成果をもとに、約20000年前の直近の氷期における北西オーストラリアの海水準変動史を構築した。また、GIAモデルによる計算により氷床変動に起因する全球的な海水準変動史を復元し、その結果、直近の氷期では大陸氷床は従来考えられていたよりも不安定であった可能性が指摘された。この成果は国際誌に投稿済で現在査読中であり、将来危惧される氷床融解による海水準上昇の理解促進・将来予測の精度向上に貢献できるものと期待される。
IODP(国際深海掘削計画)第356次航海で採取された試料の放射性炭素年代測定も終了し、得られた結果を海外の共同研究者とワークショップ(2017年7月、ブレーメン)において議論を行い、筆頭著者として論文を執筆中である。また、第356次航海の成果の一部は共著者として国際誌に掲載された。
