Outline of Annual Research Achievements

昨年度に引き続き、強相関系を対象に、電場や光が誘起する非平衡現象及びそれらがもたらす物質相や量子ダイナミクスに関する研究を行った。今年度の主要な成果は、昨年度より予備的に進めてきた絶縁破壊に関する研究をまとめたことである。

絶縁破壊とは、絶縁体に十分強い電場を印加すると、絶縁体であっても電流が流れる「電場誘起金属絶縁体転移」と呼べる現象である。絶縁破壊は古くから研究されており工学的な応用もなされてきた現象であるが、強相関物質における絶縁破壊現象は、通常のバンド絶縁体に比べ理解が進んでおらず、近年でも理論・実験の両面から研究されている。理論的には、量子多体効果と非平衡非線形現象を同時に扱わねばならない点が問題を難しくしている。これにアプローチするため我々は、量子トンネル現象の理論とボソン化法を組み合わせ、幅広い1次元強相関絶縁体に適用可能な有効場理論を構築することに成功した。またそれを用いて、具体的に絶縁破壊の起こる閾値電場の解析的な式を与えることが出来た。これはよく知られたLandau-Zener公式の量子多体系への拡張と見なすことが出来る点も興味深い。
この結果に関して、国際ワークショップにおける招待講演や国外大学でのセミナーを含む複数回の講演において発表を行った。また、すでに研究成果は論文にまとめており、現在投稿に向けて準備中である。

これに加え、近年注目を集める非平衡系特有の量子現象と言える「非エルミート量子現象」や「離散時間結晶」に関しても共同で研究を行い、複数の論文を出版した。
