Outline of Annual Research Achievements

受入研究室では、ジイソニトリルを金属触媒によりリビング重合して得られるらせん高分子ポリ(キノキサリン-2,3,-ジイル)(以下ポリキノキサリン)について研究を行っている。前年度までの研究においては、ABA型配列を有するテルキノキサリンの合成とこのテルキノキサリンを開始剤としたポリキノキサリン合成法を開発し、ポリマー主鎖の中央部に特定の配列を有するポリキノキサリンを合成することに成功した。今年度はこの方法をもとにより複雑な配列を有するポリキノキサリンの合成を目標とした。
ポリキノキサリンが5つのモノマーユニットで2回転するらせんを形成することに着目し、まず、ペンタキノキサリンの合成を検討した。検討の結果、ABCBA型配列を有するペンタキノキサリン類の合成法の開発に成功した。このペンタキノキサリンを用いたポリキノキサリン合成を検討した。ペンタキノキサリン-パラジウム二核錯体を開始剤として用いてジイソニトリルモノマーの重合を行うことで、ポリマー主鎖の中央にABCBA型の配列を持つポリキノキサリンを得た。また、ペンタキノキサリンのホモカップリング反応を利用した重縮合によって、ABCBA型の繰り返し配列を有するポリキノキサリンが得られた。
本研究で開発したポリキノキサリンの合成法によって、モノマーの配列を制御することで新たな機能性らせん高分子の開発につながることが期待できる。また、従来のジイソニトリルの重合とは異なるルートでポリキノキサリンを合成できることで、従来では導入困難なモノマー構造を持つポリキノキサリンの合成も可能になると考えられる。
