Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成30年度は本研究課題にてこれまで開発した計測原理を基盤として皮膚ガス成分のリアルタイム可視化を目的に①「ガス可視化システム(探嗅カメラ)の高感度化」および、②「正確な皮膚ガスイメージングの達成」のため、エタノールガスをモデルとして研究開発を実施した。探嗅カメラでは、アルコール脱水素酵素(ADH)をコットン繊維のメッシュへと固定化した検出素子を利用した。このシステムでは、エタノールガスの存在下で生じる、蛍光特性(励起波長 340 nm、蛍光波長 490 nm)を有するニコチンアミドアデニンジヌクレオチド(NADH)を生成するADHの触媒反応を利用して、蛍光強度分布からADH固定化メッシュに負荷されたエタノールガスの濃度分布を可視化する。①「システムの高感度化」においては、撮像素子を従来のモノクロカメラからカラーCMOSカメラへと変更し、新規に高感度なNADH蛍光検出用の画像処理手法を開発し、②「正確な皮膚ガスイメージング手法の開発」では、複雑な凹凸を有する体表面とADH固定化メッシュ間の距離を均一化するフィッティングデバイスを開発した。その結果、皮膚ガス中エタノールの可視化に十分な感度が得られ、飲酒後の皮膚ガス中エタノールの可視化実験では、飲酒に伴ってエタノールガスが放出される様子の可視化を世界で初めて実現した。その際、計測する体表面の部位により同量の飲酒を行った場合でもエタノール濃度の濃淡が観察され皮膚ガスイメージングによる放出部位の特定の可能性が示唆された。これらの結果はノネナール分布を始め、種々の皮膚ガス評価の礎となると考える。また、本実験はカメラを固定して実施したものの手持ち可能なサイズにまで小型化が進んでおり、アーム型ロボット等と組み合わせて身体全体の皮膚ガス濃度マッピングへの展開も実現できると考えている。
