Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、AdS以外の可解な時空におけるゲージ/重力対応の検証およびその適応限界を明らかにすることである。本年度は、本研究の研究過程で新たに発見された一般化された超重力理論の時空上における弦理論の性質について詳細に調べた。
一般化された超重力理論の運動方程式は、超弦理論の定式化のひとつとして知られるGreen-Schwarz形式においてkappa対称性の要求することから導かれる、という著しい性質をもつ。これは、弦理論が一般化された超重力理論の時空上においても少なくとも古典レベルで無矛盾に定義できることを意味する。しかし、その一方で、量子論レベルで無矛盾に定義可能であるかどうかは全く明らかではない。
前々年度では、弦理論のWeylアノマリーの相殺項として知られるFradkin-Tseytlin項を適切に一般化することによって、一般化された背景時空上の弦理論のWeylアノマリーをone-loopレベルで相殺可能であることを示した。しかし、我々が構成した相殺項は非局所的な項ではないか?という指摘があった。
そこで、我々は一般化されたFradkin-Tseytlin項を上手く書き直していくことで、実際には相殺項が局所的な項で書き表せることを具体的に示した。一方で、最終的な相殺項の表式は非多項式型をもつ可能性があることが今回明らかになった。この非多項式項の出現は一般化された超重力理論の記述する時空がT-foldと呼ばれる非幾何学的な時空であることを反映した結果ではないかと推測でき、今後の研究でこの点を明らかにいきたい。なお、本研究の成果はPhysical Review Letters誌に掲載された。
