Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2流体模型によると、超流動ヘリウム4は粘性の常流体と非粘性の超流体の混合流体として理解できる。超流体が乱流となった量子乱流状態では、2流体が互いの運動に影響を及ぼし合う。これにより、通常の単一粘性流体にはない興味深い物理が現れる。例えば、近年の可視化実験により観測された常流動速度場の変形がある。常流動速度場が通常のポアズイユ流から変形することがわかった。これは2流体結合ダイナミクスが起こしたものと予想され、興味深い。
本課題の目的は、超流動ヘリウム4における2流体の結合ダイナミクスを探索することである。昨年度に引き続き、2流体結合ダイナミクスの数値計算を用いて研究を行なった。ここで、常流体はナビエ・ストークス方程式、超流体は渦糸模型で記述される。熱対向流における速度場の変形に関して、昨年度投稿した論文がPhysical Review Lettersに掲載された。本年度の研究結果を加えて、結果を国際会議QFS2018において発表した。
また、量子乱流の減衰に関しても研究を行なった。本研究では、量子乱流のエネルギー注入を切って減衰させることで、そのエネルギー散逸を明らかにする。本研究は国外の実験グループとの共同研究であり、我々は数値計算を用いて貢献した。特に、今回の数値計算ではそれまで考慮されてこなかった管壁の効果を取り入れた。この研究結果は、Physical Review Bに掲載された。
さらに、共同研究として、超流動の助走区間に関する研究も行なった。量子乱流は、流路の入り口から成長を始め、下流へ流れつつ発達していく。助走区間とは、乱流が十分発達するまでに流体が流れる区間のことである。本研究では、数値計算を用いて量子乱流の助走区間を調べた。用いた理論模型は、量子渦間スケールを粗視化したHVBK模型である。国際会議QFS2018において、この研究結果を発表した。
