Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We have studied a rhodium(II)-catalyzed cyclization reaction of 4-acyl-1-sulfonyl-1,2,3-triazoles possessing a phenyl ring.
Acceptor/acceptor carbenoids undergo cyclizaion by reacting either with a phenyl ring though electrophilic aromatic substitution or with a benzylic C-H bond through insertion depending on the length of the carbon chain. In the case of two and three carbon chain, a phenyl ring is reacted. On the other hand, in the case of four carbon chain, a benzylic C-H bond is reacted.
