Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In order to preserve and pass on historical villages, streetscapes and living cultures, it is necessary to foster the next generation to support preservation activities of the historic landscapes of villages and towns. In this study, we clarified the approach of development of the next generation by historical townscape learning by cooperation and collaboration among diversified actors such as schools, local governments, and civil groups for the 117 Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Historic Buildings in the whole country. In addition, we developed three types of paper crafts as townscape preservation learning materials, and practiced classes using them. Based on the above, we examined an effective program for development of the next generation that supports the preservation activities of the historic landscapes of villages and towns.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
