Outline of Final Research Achievements

Practice on advanced fluid mechanical experiments and its application to extensive engineering education for developing competent engineers were conducted. Wind tunnel experiments have been made on flow past a long flat plate with passive control and active control. A book on Wind Power Generation was published with Denkishoin Co., Ltd. Scientific events on fluid flow for public as well as outreach seminars on fluid mechanics for engineers and students were also conducted.

先進的な流れの抵抗低減の研究は、産業・社会基盤の心臓部ともいうべき各種エネルギー・プラント・輸送系流体機械の設計技術の革新に寄与することから、工学的意義が大きい。また、これらの先端研究成果の広域工学教育への適用は、国民理解の促進と技術者教育の観点から社会要請に応えるものである。
