| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research project worked on current STS theoretical framework. The concepts that Tsukahara and Shineda worked on are as follows: Post Normal Science, Trans-Science, RRI (Responsible Research and Innovation). Both of us have published several papers in English and Japanese, which can be seen in various DB such as CiNii, Researchmap, kuid, Kernel and Google-scholar.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
近年のSTSについての理論的動向の検証は、科学と市民の関係についての重要な知見をもたらす。中でも塚原はオランダを中心とするヨーロッパ大陸での議論の展開を、PNS概念を中心に検討し、科学批判や科学と社会の関係についての市民的関与に関する状況や動向を取材・検証し、国際的に広く議論を開いた。
また標葉はEUのRRI概念（責任ある研究とイノベーション）について特に注意を向け、日本へのこの概念の紹介と適応についての可能性について検討を試みて、この分野における画期的な著作を刊行し得たことは、大きな成果であり、日本においてはこの分野を切り拓く仕事をしたものと高く評価をしたい。
