| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We tried two ways that commentary can better understand the museum exhibition. The first, we tried analogue method at the special exhibition. We arranged from four to eight commentaries and hands-on models in three-dimensions centering on the specimen. The second, we tried at the permanent exhibition. When a visitor takes a picture with a tablet application, the tablet recognizes the specimen and a description of the specimen is displayed on the web. Simply put, visitors can choose from the many explanations they need, in both analog and digital ways. Both have advantages and disadvantages, but generally speaking, the analogue way is suitable for large specimens, and the digital way is suitable for small and medium-sized specimens.

博物館利用者の多くは展示見学を目的としている。その機会により良い博物館体験を提供する努力は、博物館側にとって重要な責務である。博物館の展示を理解してもらうために考案した方法２種類を試し、アンケート調査で来館者の反応をまとめた。解説パネルから実験装置、ハンズオン展示などを組み合わせたアナログ的手法にも、タブレットを使ったデジタル的手法にも、肯定的な意見と否定的な意見があり、単純な正解は得られなかった。しかし重要なことは、博物館が来館者にどのような情報をどのような形で提供するのかを考え改善し続けることであり、情報を提供するだけで良いかと問い続ける姿勢である。
