Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have dealt with manufacturing, inventory, logistics and retailer systems, which include a multi-stage production and inventory system, circular U-shaped lines, a warehouse and a retailer who sells new and old products at the same time, and parts repair and replacement problems. By using the analytical methods in Operations Research such as Queueing theory, Markov decision process and mathematical programming, we derive the optimal or sub-optimal policies to maximize the system's profits. By considering the change of information such as demand, amounts of items in inventory, deterioration of parts and so on, we develop the control method of production, orders, service, replacement of parts and assignment of workers, analytically and numerically.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
