| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In German-speaking countries, where migration has brought about great social changes in recent decades, many writers with multicultural and multilingual backgrounds have received much attention. In this project, we focus on multilingual Swiss writers in the first half of the 20th century (such as Robert Walser and Friedrich Glauser) as well as more contemporary Eastern-European translator-authors (including Ilma Rakusa, Christina Viragh, and Terezia Mora) and explore their potential to create a new kind of culture.

本研究では、多様性に富んだ言語的・文化的伝統を持つスイスの作家（ローベルト・ヴァルザー、フリードリヒ・グラウザーなど）、さらには、多くは移民的背景を持つ現代ドイツ語圏の越境作家、とりわけ翻訳者としても作家としても活動している書き手（イルマ・ラクーザ、クリスティーナ・ヴィラーグ、テレージア・モーラ）を取り上げ、複数言語の混淆、多様な文化的背景からいかなる新たな作品が生まれうるのかについて、それぞれの作家の作品の翻訳そして批評を通して明らかにした。
