| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research has revealed that phonetic symbols used in English texbooks and dictionries are varied and it may confuse learners. And also leaners and some teachers have difficulties to pronouce English sounds even if they know the phonetic symbols. In this research, we picked up phonetic symbols to learn and make a plan how to teach them. Once learners study the pronunciation using phonetic symbols, they can keep on brushing up their pronunciation.

本研究は、発音指導の立ち後れの改善に貢献できる。教員だけでなく、学習者にとっても重要な情報を提供し、発音教育の改善に大いに役立つ。発音記号を効率的に指導するプログラムにより、音声に関して自立的な英語学習者を養成することが可能になる。学習者は、学んだ発音記号を手がかりにして英語を音声化でき、リスニングの精度をあげることができる。発音学習は音声化を通して、コミュニケーションに至るまで、正の転移を起こす有益な学習分野である。
