Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this research was to provide a platform that could be accessed by learners at any time from any place so that these learners could develop their recognition of kanji through a rational, interactive process.
For that purpose, the kanji was divided into two categories based on its structure: six-code basic form and four-code combination form. This was done using the "Approach for learning Kanji shape for non-kanji background learners” .(TAHA:2015)
The basic form was revised and used as a basis for the kanji recognition system. (2016) Finally, the database of the kanji from the former level 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) was used to create " KANJI in 6&4 " as a web software for the platform. (2017, 2018)

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究の学術的意義は、字形特性の学習からスタートさせる漢字学習法を新たに提案し、さらにその学習法をWEBアプリケーションのプラットホームで学習者がいつでもどこでもアクセスしてインタラクティブに学習できる環境を整えたことである。
研究成果の社会的意義は、日本語教育を必要とする多くの学習者に対して、これまで日本語学習上の高い壁として捉えられてきた漢字学習をWEBソフトウェア「KANJI in 6&4」によって容易ならしめた点にある。その特徴は、デジタル化によって学習内容が短時間で済み、視覚的に理解、印象に残りやすいので正確できれいな文字認識が進み、自律・反復学習が可能となるという点である。
