This study is business activity of Kagaya. Kagaya is a clothes merchant, He is a Buyer of Echigo chidimi. and agent of Daimaruya.
Kagaya is a financier.He did the transpotation of money from Echigo to Edo, and from Edo to Echigo.

越後十日町の越後縮問屋は江戸の呉服問屋のために越後縮を集荷し送荷するが、拘束性の強い買宿というかたちをとることが多い。それでも江戸以外の地域への広範囲の取引が可能であった。前貸し金や代金の決済には為替を用いていた。江戸から十日町への資金流通と相殺するために、長岡藩など江戸へ送金する大名の資金を受け入れた。為替取引量が次第に増大していき、加賀屋だけの送金にとどまらず、多くの資金を扱うようになるとともに、越後の国の多くの大名の江戸送金も扱うようになり、為替業者として成長していった。
