Outline of Final Research Achievements

At first, we proposed a framework to explain consumer behavior from individual level to market dynamics level. Next, to confirm this framework, we focused on Japanese pop culture events (JPCEs) as typical consumer-generated market development. We visited 5 JPCEs and interviewed 18 people relating to JPCEs. Based on these survey, We built a conceptual model how JPCEs have evolved and how event organizers should expand with a focus on consumer participatory behavior in Japanese Pop Culture and JPCEs. We found some development patterns for JPCEs, which can be described by which consumers are targeted and how different kinds of consumers are connected time-sequentially. Exploring of development patterns can have strategic implications who to choose and who to connect with.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究の学術的な意義は、消費者行動研究を「集計水準」という視点から3つ(個別消費者行動分析、消費者類型論、市場動態論)に分類し、それぞれを連結するモデルを提示すしたことと、「消費者主導の市場形成」という今日的な市場形成に着目し、一つの枠組みで個別の 消費者行動、消費者類型論、市場動態過程を論じたことである。この研究の成果を通じた実務的意義は、本研究で提起した枠組みに沿うことで、マーケティングの策定において、戦略的領域と戦術的領域とを一貫させることができる点である。具体的には集計水準の高い消費者行動研究が戦略的領域に貢献し、集計水準の低い消費者行動研究が戦術的側面に貢献しうるというものである。
