I categorized retailing systems to 4 classifications, such as offerings, physical distribution, opening stores, chain store operation, and 12 sub-classifications, such as assortment, 52 weeks merchandise planning, customer service education, incentives, physical distribution management, area-dominance, format development, standardization of planograms, central buying, centralization, supervisor system. Moreover, I investigated Japanese retailer operating in China, and revealed the effects of the environmental embeddedness on their international operations and the processes of international transfer of their retailing systems. Thereby, I clarified the retailing systems as the systematic sets of retailing technologies, and the international transfer process of retailing systems as complex transfer process of each retailing technologies. Moreover, through the investigations of Asian market and other retail formats, I examined these clarifications are adaptable to the other area or not.
