| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, we conducted a cross-sectional survey (November 2017), a panel survey (January 2019), and a qualitative survey (as needed) for citizens in Ofunato City, Iwate Prefecture for the past three years. Using these data, we analyzed the residents' evaluation of reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake, focusing on disparities and divisions among the residents.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
この3年間の調査を含むこれまでの調査データを分析した結果、住宅再建や被災市街地の再整備などの「目に見える復興」の進展に伴い、復興を実感できるようになった人と、そうでない人の格差が生じつつあることが分かった。またその格差は、震災時の被害に起因するものだけではなく、たとえば被災者の住宅補償政策において個人事業主の住宅兼店舗が対象外であるなど、現行の復興政策に起因するものもあることが分かった。
震災直後の復旧期から、「目に見える復興」がほぼ終わる段階までの復興過程を明らかにしたこと、その中で被災者救済のための復興政策に起因する住民間の格差や分断の一端を明らかにした点に本研究の意義があると考える。
