Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study was to support flexible career development for those who have left the workforce due to childcare or nursing care. Focusing on re-employment of women, In Survey 1, among those who wished to re-enter the workforce ,their desired work style, environmental factors (ex, family situation), intra-individual factors (ex, gender role attitudes), and moderating factors (ex, sharing household responsibilities) were investigated. A follow-up survey was conducted to examine these differences between the groups who had worked and those who had not during one year. In Survey 2, interviews were conducted with those who had started their own businesses or worked as freelancers. The reasons choosing a non-employed work style, and influencing factors, their job satisfaction, and work-life balance were asked. In Survey 3, a questionnaire survey was conducted based on the results of Surveys 1 and 2, showing the relationship between flexibility of work style and life satisfaction.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
