| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
(1)“Jinjou Syougaku Saujyutsu”is a first national Arithmetical textbook in Japan.In this study,the author analysed the logic of explanation on a rule of division of fraction in the textbook used from 1905 to 1924.
(2)In this study,the author analysed a practical study on the teaching of definition of farction from 1910 to 1917. As a result,the author appointed the existance of faction theory(a fundamental viewpoint of a definition of farction and its explanation)as school mathematics as a basis of the practical study.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
分数という数をどのように定義するか、その定義をどのように説明するか、分数除法の計算規則の成立をどのような論理に従って説明するのか。これらの問題は、数学教育の研究において重要な問題であるにも関わらず、現在においても未だ確定的な解答が得られていない。本研究は、日本で最初に作成・使用された国定教科書『尋常小学算術書』の内容および国定教科書の使用時期に取り組まれた教育実践研究の動向を検討することにより、この問題が歴史的に問われ続けてきた問題であることを、先行研究とは異なった角度から示した。また、国定教科書と実践的研究の動向には、現在においても継承・発展を図るべき内容が含まれていることを示した。
