Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To separate a saturated fatty acid from an unsaturated fatty acid contained in low-grade waste cooking oil (WGO), we performed melt crystallization employing an annular-cylindrical-type apparatus. In this study, we examined the following three items: (i) melt crystallization of binary mixture of fatty acids as model WGO, (ii) elucidation of formation mechanism of Taylor vortex in the annular space of a melt crystallization bath, (iii) building of a solute distribution theory using ternary mixture of fatty acids as model WGO.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
