Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The present study compared between the ex-vivo intravascular imaging and histopathology of coronary artery plaques using autopsy cases. The diagnostic accuracy of intravascular imaging for coronary artery plaque has been verified. Among the forensic autopsy cases, ex-vivo coronary artery imaging is useful to detect the coronary artery thrombosis. Furthermore, we examined the effect of the drug-coated balloon on restenosis after intervention in the peripheral artery of atherosclerotic animal model. We have demonstrated that the intravascular imaging can detect the delivered drug by drug-coated balloon.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
