Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Grossart-Maticek identified "autonomy", a behavioral property that is involved in the onset and progression of cancer and cardiovascular disease, and developed "autonomy training", a psychotherapy to stimulate and enhance autonomy. We trained "autonomy trainers", practitioners of this therapy and, with their cooperation we conducted a preliminary and exploratory intervention study, where 22 female patients with breast cancer received autonomy training, and subjective and objectives indicators including the patients' autonomy and quality of life were measured before and after the treatment. Follow-up survey will be completed by the end of June 2020, and analysis will be implemented thereafter. As a part of the study's preparations, we developed a web questionnaire system to support the training process of autonomy training practitioners. The reliability and validity of some of the questionnaires used in the system were examined.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
