様々な疾患でシアストレスの異常で大動脈弁や大動脈壁の変性やアテローム化が起こることが知られているが、老年性の石灰化などは大動脈側の組織に起こり、左室補助人工心臓埋め込み後の患者では左室側の組織に起こる。我々の開発した手法でシアストレスを解析することで、さらに詳細な原因検索とより良い治療方法を探ることができる可能性がある。
