Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study aimed to develop an educational program for physical assessment based on clinical reasoning of nurses. A four-step study was conducted. We compared and analyzed in detail the differences in clinical reasoning about the patient's condition between nursing students and nurses, and examined the necessary educational content.Communication skills and intentional and active attitudes when collecting information, the ability to reliably focus on notable information that is a clue to urgency or seriousness from a lot of information, and ability to prevent misdiagnosis, etc. .. It was suggested that these educational contents were necessary.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

医療が高度化、先進化する中で、看護師の看護の質向上は不可欠である。患者の身体的な状態をしっかりと観察し必要な情報を収集し、根拠に基づく適切なアセスメントが求められている。そのためには看護基礎教育から継続教育に向けて、強化すべき教育内容を検討する必要がある。看護師はチーム医療のキーパーソンであり、患者に最も身近な専門職である。患者の状態の変化を捉え、判断し必要な対応をするためには、情報収集、臨床推論、臨床判断に至る思考プロセスを詳しく調査し検討する必要がある。
