| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
70 years after the end of the World War 2, peace museums can no longer depend on survivors to assist interpretation of historical experience on the exhibition floor. This research aims to present new type of exhibition to communicate war experience in such era. First, we examined issues within conventional peace museum exhibition and developing practices of second generation and third generation. Then based on the findings, we developed exhibition with unconventional composition, emphasizing on the importance of audiences' critical thinking toward historical experience, and conducted audience research and exhibition review. This exhibition presented the affectivity of inducing audiences' critical thinking toward war experience through flipping them into addresser.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
これまでの平和博物館展示は戦争体験を伝えることに主眼を置いていた。本研究では、継承は伝え手と受け手のコミュニケーションの中で成立することを重視し、戦争体験から何を汲み取るのか、受け手が主体的に考えることこそ戦争体験継承展示の要であることを提起し、戦争体験展示における着眼点を転換した。
これをもとに実際に展示を制作することで、歴史や継承そのものの意味を来館者に問うアプローチや時系列を遡る歴史展示など、戦争体験継承展示における新たな展示方法を提示できた。展示評と来館者調査でその意義が確認された。また、解釈を来館者にゆだねながらも考察を深めてもらうアプローチを続けることの困難と重要性も指摘された。
