Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of the first study was to clarify the present situation with the aim for better recuperation of Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. A survey was carried out in a patient association in the same region in 1995, 2004 and 2017. The mean age at the time of diagnosis was 69.0 year in 1995 and 73.1 year in 2017 group. The number of people living together was 2.9 ± 1.6 in 1995 and decreased to 2.3 ± 1.1 in 2017. In the future, with a greater number of PD patients it will be necessary to support long-term recuperation is expected.
The second study was to reduce the risk of falls in patients with PD. A characteristic of common falls in PD patients was that the fall prevention self-efficacy score decreased with increasing severity of PD. It will be more important that reducing the risk of falls in patients with PD. It was apparent that fall prevention in PD patient needs of consideration of the life environment, and conscious to promote physical and psychological.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
