Outline of Final Research Achievements

As an achievement of cancer genome projects, a cellular enzyme, APOBEC3B, has been reported to be a critical cause of mutations found in various cancers. In this study, we performed the screening for natural compounds which contribute to cancer prevention by decreasing APOBEC3B. As a result, we found two natural compounds which can downregulate APOBEC3B at the mRNA level, whereas these compounds could not decrease APOBEC3B at the protein level.
