Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The mechano-stress sensor X (alias) is expressed in intestinal epithelium. Deletion of mechano-stress sensor X in the intestinal epithelium leads to increased bone volume. This result suggests that intestinal mechano-stress sensor activation suppresses bone formation. The novel gut-bone homeostasis machinery is now under investigation.
