Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Factors affecting freight mode choice for transporting bulk cargoes by Simultaneous Equation Model. As a result, followings are clarified. (i)There is no relationship between container volume and containerization for higher containerized cargoes, (ii)fare has negative influences on containerization, (iii)port development increases containerization for low containerized cargoes while it decreases for higher containerized cargoes, (iv)cost reduction of import country is effective to increase containerization, (v)cost reduction of export country might also increase containerization, and (vi)cargoes of higher price per weight tend to be transported by container haulage.
