Outline of Final Research Achievements

First, we evaluated the invasiveness of various airway devices using simulation.
Next, we modified various parts of original airway management device and evaluated the efficacy using simulation.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

心肺蘇生などの救急医療、院内急変対応などの緊急時対応や手術室麻酔、集中治療管理における人口呼吸管理においても、確実な気道管理は必須の医療行為である。しかしながら、気道管理が必要な場合、多くの患者は循環破綻状態にあり、気管挿管刺激により致死的不整脈など様々な心合併症を引き起こす可能性がある。また、比較的気道管理環境の整った手術室でも気道確保不適切による心停止発生の症例数は多く重篤な予後につながることが麻酔科学会の偶発症例調査で示されている。本研究は「多様な気道管理困難に対応可能」かつ「侵襲の低い」な新規気道管理器具の開発の基盤となると考えられる。
