Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, the discussion centered on two components. Firstly, the factors and mechanisms mediating the relationship between gender-based violence and suicide-related behavior were investigated from the interdisciplinary perspective of sociology, gender studies, medical anthropology, developmental psychology, and biological psychiatry. Secondly, an interdisciplinary approach to intervention, care, and recovery from trauma was explored, focusing on the cultural practices on recovery from gender-based violence, including those done by survivors themselves: running self-help groups, sharing stories through media and creating artworks. Particularly, with overseas research collaborator, a content analysis of Japanese manga was conducted to examine the depiction of self-injury and its impact on readers, and to consider the possibilities of intervention. These research findings were published and presented through internal and international academic journals, conferences, and lectures.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
