| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to support the tourists and tourist destinations that want to attract them by using social media such as travel blog entries. Specifically, we tackle the following tasks: "Task 1: Automatic extraction of tourists' motivation for tourism" and "Task 2: Information expansion of information magazines for tourism", then achieve the above objectives by integrating two tasks.
In the task 1, we have found that the required tourist information differs depending on the attributes such as the country of residence of the foreigners visiting Japan. In the task 2, we have developed a technology to estimate the country of residence and tourism patterns of the user. It enables us to enhance the information with more appropriate images and travel blog entries to suit the demographics of the user browsing the tourism magazine.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
2007年１月に「観光立国推進基本法」が施行され、2008年10月には国土交通省の外局として観光庁が設置されるなど、日本では今、「観光」を21世紀の基幹産業と位置付けた多様な取り組みが、国や地方公共団体、民間で積極的に推進されている。このような中、どのようにして観光情報の提供を行うかは重要な問題である。旅行者が、旅先の観光情報を収集するために利用する情報源として、旅行ガイドブックや観光パンフレットが挙げられる。本研究では、旅行ガイドブックへ、旅行ブログエントリに加え、画像などのマルチメディア情報を、ユーザの属性に合わせて対応付けることで、更なる情報拡張を行う手法を開発した。
