Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study revealed the development of the theory of action of school reform in Donald Shon's Cities and Schools Research Group that envisioned a cross-sectional evaluation study of the Annenberg Challenge, a nationwide school reform effort in the mid-1990s in the United States.

本研究の学術的意義は、学校改革の「比類なき実験」と称されたアネンバーグ・チャレンジに対して、行財政・政策的な関心ではなく、学校改革の評価研究を担おうとした研究者グループの動向を対象とし、学校改革の理論の展開を解明することにあった。本研究の社会的意義は、学校改革を直接導く諸概念ではない、学校改革のデザインや評価のためのメタ理論として、〈学校改革の「活動の理論」〉に接近した点にあった。
