Outline of Final Research Achievements

We developed transition-metal-catalyzed regioselective aminothiolation of alkenes to provide the bioactive sulfur-containing alkaloids. The detailed investigation revealed that alkenes were treated with thiols and N-fluorobenzenesulfonimide in the presence of a copper catalyst to afford the desired adducts with a perfect regioselectivity.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究において、これまで制御困難と考えられてきたラジカル付加反応を遷移金属触媒により精密に制御することで、アルケンの位置選択的なアミノチオ化反応を開発した。本手法を利用すれば、不飽和化合物に一挙に窒素官能基と硫黄官能基を導入することができる。生成物の生物活性物質としての有用性を考慮すると、有機合成化学に新手法を供給しただけでなく、医薬品化学や天然物化学の分野にも大きく貢献できた。
