Outline of Final Research Achievements

Although the gene expression status of cells is considered important as a cause of cancer radioresistance, there are many unclear parts. This time, we aimed to identify genes involved in radiotherapy resistance of cells using widely available databases such as TCGA. In conclusion, although several related genes were identified during the study period, no apparent radioresistance appeared when the genes were introduced into cells.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

癌の放射線抵抗性の原因として細胞の遺伝子発現状況は重要と考えられるが、不明な部分が多い。今回データベースを用いて細胞の放射線治療抵抗性に関わる遺伝子を同定することを目的とした。今回は特にmiR-654-3pというマイクロRNAに注目して研究を行なったが、本研究期間内に明らかな放射線抵抗性への関係性を示すことができなかった。今後も他の候補遺伝子について順次研究する予定である。
