Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The relationship between urination patterns and diuretics in elderly people requiring nursing care was clarified to obtain suggestions on how to improve nocuturia polyuria. The subjects were elderly people aged 65 and over who had a nocturia index of 33% or more and use a diuretic. For urination status, urinary incontinence was measured and continuous measurement was performed using an ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system for the bladder. Body water content was investigated using a body water composition meter. As a result, the amount of urinary incontinence was high until 9 am after the pouring of the diuretic. The amount of urine during the day was less than the amount of water drinked during lunch. Body water content increased most before bedtime. The body water content of the trunk and both legs was lowest at 11:00, which was 5 hours after pouring of the diuretic.
