Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ブロック共重合体が自発的に形成するデカナノメートルスケーのナノ相分離構造を利用して、有機発光分子を集積する技術を確立し、有機発光デバイスへ展開することを目的とする。ポリエチレンオキシド(PEO)からなるナノシリンダー構造を超微小な発光セルとみなし、PEOと相溶する発光材料を導入する。初年度に、ブロック共重合体ポリスチレン-ポリエチレンオキシド(PS-PEO)のPEOブロックとの相溶性を向上させたオリゴエチレングリコールで修飾した熱活性遅延蛍光(TADF)発光分子を合成し、PS-PEOのPEOシリンダードメイン選択的に発光分子を導入した複合膜を作製することに成功した。最終年度では、複合膜のフォトルミネッセンス(PL)特性を詳細に検討することにより、発光分子がPEOシリンダーとPSマトリックスの界面に存在していることが示唆された。PEOとPSホモポリマーが形成するマクロ相分離構造中に発光分子を導入し、超解像顕微鏡観察を行ったところ、これを支持する結果を得た。さらに、複合膜を活性層に用いた有機EL素子の最適化を行い、ナノ構造が及ぼすエレクトロルミネッセンス(EL)特性を検討した。また、発光色の異なる分子も合成し、ナノ構造、PL、 EL特性の検討を行った。発光分子の探索過程で、有機トランジスタ材料、有機薄膜太陽電池ドナー材料へ展開できる新規有機半導体材料を開発した。
研究期間内に、当初計画していた電気化学発光セルの作製には至らなかった。ブロック共重合体・発光分子・塩の三元系の複合条件下におけるナノ相分離構造の発現が課題であった。
本研究では、PS-b-PEOのPEOシリンダードメインにTADF発光分子を導入した複合膜を作製することに成功した。複合膜中においてもTADF特性を維持していることがフォトルミネッセンス特性評価により明らかとなった。さらに、この複合膜を活性層とする有機EL素子の作製を達成した。
