| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We conducted field research on five villages on Kikai island in order to record natural conversation and songs and to clarify the dialect diversity in person pronouns, address nouns, demonstratives, interrogative words, sentence final particles, honorific expressions and so forth thorough elicitation. Especially, we described the characteristics of why-interrogative sentences in detail. We also developed a tool for facilitating morphological analyses on text data. We created a website for publishing our primary data.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は，喜界島諸方言の談話資料を収集した点，また，その方言差について明らかにした点で，今後の喜界島諸方言の研究を促進するものとなる。特に，理由疑問文についての研究では，管見の限り他の日琉の諸地域変種に見られない特徴が明らかとなっている。この点で，本研究は疑問文に関する一般言語学的な研究に資するものといえる。さらに，本研究の過程でテキストの形態素分析を円滑化するためのツールを作成したが，これは助詞の融合の扱いなどの点で，日琉の諸地域変種を扱うのに適した仕様となっており，このツールを応用することで諸地域変種におけるテキストを利用した研究の促進が見込まれる。
